My son has been successfully losing weight ....but one obstacle is weighing him in every week because he is to heavy for a regular scale since it does not go over 400 lbs, so he approached the Bariatric Center to have use of there scale, they allowed my son to weigh in ONCE then called him to say they will no longer allow this due to liability if he trips on the scale....SERIOUSLY? Are you not there to help?! My son went to get his doctor to refer him there and even then he is not allowed. (He was also willing to sign a waiver). THIS will not keep my son down WE will find somewhere that he will be able to track his progress!
I just wanted to say thank-you to the very nice man that bought balloons for my children at the McDonald's on Tecumseh Road near Lauzon for McHappy Day today. I'm thinking it was likely the same man that ran over to the door to open it for us on our way in. Unfortunately, I was in the middle of placing our order, while the volunteer was asking which colour balloons my children wanted. I wanted to ask her which gentleman had been so kind to us, but she was gone by the time I finished ordering. Here's hoping you read this message. You totally made our day and I'm still smiling about it while writing this note. Thank-you!
Today at 9:30 am I went to the 400 building downtown. When I got there, there was a dog tied to the front door in the cold rain. After I was done inside an hour later the dog was still there, shivering in the cold. Who does that to there dog? That is animal cruelty and it needs to stop!
to the older lady at the river calming down her granddaughter. I was at the river sitting there with my coffee just texting and relaxing before work. I suddenly heard yelling and I noticed this teenage girl and this older lady. The teenage girl was having a breakdown over someone or something. I couldn't help but over hear everything. It was like a scene out of a movie and so very touching near the end. That woman said so many things to her granddaughter which helped her calm down. The words that came out made me cry because they hit so close to my heart also. At the end she said "I know its hard, but consider yourself lucky that you had something that makes saying goodbye so hard". I had lost my mom 2 years ago today and she was on my mind. Just hearing those words made me think that I was supposed to be there at that very moment to hear those words. I walked up to the lady after her and her granddaughter were calmed down and explained what she said meant to me to hear. We cried a little more and we hugged it out. So to that lady, thank you for being there and bringing calm to the world around you with those wise words. I took a deep breathe after sending this in knowing that you have made my day and week. Those words will stay in my heart forever.
Signed
The girl with the tears in her eyes
Ronald McDonald House to me....it is a safe place. It was home away from home. My profile pic is of Matt a few days after he was hit by a car. Our lives were turned upside down in a matter of minutes. Because I was able to stay at RMH I did not have to worry about anything. I was close by, there was food and snacks to grab....and every day we had a handful of volunteers make us the best dinner's. While there, Dave and my precious girls would come visit on the weekends....that never seemed to last long enough. The girls and I even did some weeding in the gardens to help them out.
The House took care of me when I could not take care of myself...from the staff that had open arms for me and were just as happy to hear of Matt's recovery, to the volunteer's on the weekends to make sure everything ran smoothly....I can never say thank you enough to the people that helped me...You can never repay that kindness....this is just one little way....help with a donation...if you can even give $5...I will go to the dollar store and buy some kitchen towels, clothes....sponges....We can do this together....help me to help them!!
To the young man on Front Road in the Red Jeep 4X4 yesterday (Tuesday) around 5:30pm. You tailgated my blue Mazda 3 all the way down Front Rd. and when I turned left onto Victory, you quickly changed lanes, and shot me the finger. Just a note - I had my two children (5 and 2) in the car, and you not only put all three of us in danger with your unsafe driving, but you also reminded me how much 'driving is privilege not a right'! Please be cautious of others on the road...especially when others are driving the actual speed limit. Parents: please remind your young drivers that they put themselves and others at danger when they are speeding...and remind them of road safety and respect for others!
Front Road is under so much construction, everyone, especially those local to the LaSalle area know to expect delays. Everyone is in such a rush, mainly in the morning to get to the EC Row Expressway (East), however it is so upsetting that so few drivers will let others into the lane. People coming out of the Tim Horton's / Shell Gas Bar have little to no chance of getting into lanes, even when the traffic is barely moving! Please folks who use this route, be kind to the other drivers. There are very few options to get to the EC Row out of LaSalle, so people can not make alternative choices to get to the expressway. As I always tell me kids: 'sharing is good for the soul'...please share the road, folks...there is no such thing as a 'morning rush' on Front Rd these days, as the traffic is moving minimally.
I was at Tecumseh Mall today May 6 2014 . I was so thirsty so I bought a iced tea . I sat down to drink my iced tea and someone beside the table next to mine her name was Jessica really wanted a coffee so I bought her one . Even though my day didn't go how I planned it to be I was happy to make someone elses day brighter
