Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings all around the world
To the woman who screamed and jumped as we walked past you down at the waterfront on Friday evening. I was having a calm, relaxing walk with my Dutch Shepherd and three of my young grandchildren. As I saw you and your group of lady friends coming toward us, I had my three grandchildren get in line behind me so your group had lots of room to pass by. Some of your friends moved to the path above us. There were two paths at that point. The moment you got beside my dog, you look down at him as if you'd just noticed he was there. You screamed at the top of your lungs and jumped backwards. My dog had looked at you and then looked away. Absolutely nothing more. I kept walking about ten feet and stopped. I turned back to you and asked what was wrong. You screamed and jumped again! I was shocked by your behaviour. I asked you again what was wrong. You acted like you were to scared to answer. One of your friends answered for you. She said you were afraid of dogs. I told you my dog was leashed, calmly walking by my side, minding his own business. Even when you screamed he ignored you. Your friends thought your behaviour was quite comical, they all knew why you were screaming, so obviously this is something you have done on more than one occasion. Your behaviour was completely unacceptable. You were mature women, not young girls. You could have moved to the path above us if you are so terrified of dogs. Your behaviour is going to get you bit by a dog one day and it won't be the dog's fault. It will be your fault. Your scream scared me and my grandchildren, not my dog. That type of irrational behaviour doesn't faze him. But one day you are going to scare the wrong dog. Not everyone is a responsible dog owner with a well behaved dog. You have been spotted. Please heed the warning.
Local Author taking world by storm, and I mean that literally. Gracie Wilson has not only self published but after only a few weeks of that pulled everything from the selves and amazon to have it redone with a publisher out of the states.
It's nice to see someone doing something locally like this, putting windsor on the map in the literal world. She will even be on the radio at the end of next month according to her page.
She is a 25 year old, all her life local to windsor. She isn't hiding any of that and proudly states where she is from and is active in the community.
I've read the book since it just came out from the publisher on May 18th and let me tell you this will not be the only times we hear about her. This girl is going to be around in the world of authors for a very long time. Each page was just as thrilling as the next. I throughly look forward to seeing what she has coming out next.
Send our Local girl Gracie Wilson some windsor love!
Hummingbirds birds are amazing creatures, so small and fast.
It's easy to see them if you have a hummingbird feeder, but very difficult to spot them if you don't.
I was lucky enough to capture this footage of one at rest on a tree branch.
Drivers, please pay attention to the road! Distracted driving kills!
A couple days ago, my best friend started crossing at the Huron Church Road intersection by Wendy's as soon as the light turned green, and was crossing the last lane until she was at the median, when a distracted driver suddenly turned and forced my friend (who has knee problems and has had a knee surgery and is unable to run) to jump to the median, causing her knee to be sore ever since. My friend said she thinks that the driver was on her cell phone (and even if they weren't, they weren't paying proper attention, obviously) and even though my friend thought she had made eye contact and ascertained that that driver would not turn (at least not into the lane as she was crossing it), the driver did indeed turn quickly into that last lane before the median, and actually hit her purse that she had on her, which was sitting against her back. The driver turned within a foot of her, and without my friend jumping forward, she would've been hit.
Please pay attention when driving! My best friend could've been seriously hurt or worse, if she hadn't have been paying attention. :(
If you are driving, please don't let that happen to someone. Please be a responsible driver and pay attention!
TOO MANY proud parents out this sunny weekend with their hatless/ bonnetless babies!!!! Read up on the ozone layer, UV damage, how one bad sunburn during childhood causes exponential increases in the future risks of skin cancer. Sheesh! Cover your children's heads, regardless of their skin tone!
People who use ebikes follow the the law of the road or get the hell off them.. I'm so sick of ebike drivers breaking the law. You MUST stop at red lights and stops signs! You must stay the hell of the side walks and you must go the proper way on a one way street. People in vehicles share the damn road!!! Everyone Stop being morons and drive properly!!!
Spotted in the Tecumseh dog park on Sunday evening. To the two young females that brought their aggressive dogs into the park. There are by laws against bringing animals like yours to the park. The language you used in front of the little girl was immensely inappropriate. I guess you can't blame the dogs for their behaviour when before even entering the park you felt the need to punch one of them in the head. Your lack of maturity was noted and I hope no other dogs have to put up with your mean mutts ever again.
Tonight driving home east bound on hwy 22 and Patilo road there were 2 families of geese crossing the roads in different directions. I commend the man in the black pick up who stopped his truck, stopped traffic and helped guide the geese and their babies into the safety of the fields. It was a great site and a good laugh for me and my family in the car. I also thank the other travelers for being patient and stopping until the birds where safe. It goes to show that there are folks out there who are kind and respectful to all living creatures.
To the ignorant driver who almost mowed down one of the families heading north on Patilo, shame on you!
