Generous Casino Employee Donates his first Strike Pay Cheque

I'm writing you because I'd like for my co worker to be recognized for his generosity. I was speaking to a good friend of mine today Mr. Antoni Tambunan and he mentioned that there are more people that are in need of the strike pay than him and that he would like to donate his check this week of $250.00 to his fellow co workers on the picket line. This action of kindness didn't come as any surprise to me, if you knew Tony you'd know that he's incredibly thoughtful and generous to others. Tony said that it's his time to give back to fellow casino coworkers because they all supported him and raised money for his family when the devastating tsunami destroyed his family in Indonesia. I cannot speak highly enough about this man, he truly has a heart of gold. Tony is a Guest Service Representative at Caesars Windsor, he takes pride in what he does for a living and does it well. He is the first Canadian to win a Recognition of Service Excellence Award (ROSE) during the annual Detroit Metro Conventions and Visitors Bureau ROSE Awards banquet. At 4 o'clock today at the Unifor Local 444 Union trailer located on Glengary Street he will make his donation to the people that have given to him in the past, it's his way of saying thank you for everything his co workers have done for him.

University Generosity

I was in line to pay for my food at the U and I heard the clerk say to multiple people that their meal was covered. When I got there, she said this to me as well; she said a student has a lot of money left on their uWincard and decided to pay for people's meals to get rid of it. This act of kindness goes SUCH a long way, especially during the stressful season of exams. Whoever you are, thank you for making my day.

Funeral Procession

My brother- in- law James Kocsis (an ex Windsor Fireman) had his funeral yesterday 16 April, 2018 at Windsor Chapel on Tecumseh Road East, Windsor, Ontario.
During the procession to the gravesite, I was absolutely amazed at the number of cars, trucks, business vans, and taxis etc. that pulled over to the side of the road along the way. I have not seen that amount that paid their respects in years. They stopped along Banwell Road, and Highway 42 for the long trip.
So Windsor and Tecumseh people are obviously very respectful and courteous. I was amazed and thankful.
So to all those that stopped and waited, my family and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

A Great Teacher

Yesterday my son asked me what kind of clothes they wore in Ancient Egypt. We talked about it, and it got me thinking about my high school history classes.

I graduated from Riverside in 2003, and my history teacher for most of those years was Ms. Siddle. She was such an amazing teacher. She really knew what she was teaching, and you could tell that she was really interested in what she was teaching. I still have almost all of my notes and "cheat sheets" from her classes. I was a lazy high school kid. I skipped class and I just didn't want to be there. I recently learned that she is still at Riverside, teaching history, and I wish I could go back and learn from her now that I'm an adult. It's really the only thing that would ever make me want to go back to high school. Her whole class was dictation and note taking, but she made history interesting, and funny, and animated. Those classes were really something special and I'm thankful to have taken them. Any of you kids that have her for a teacher now, cherish her. There aren't too many teachers like her.

(dash) Thanks (comma) Miss (exclamation point)

Good service will bring customers back!

I just wanted to let everyone know what great service my mother and I got yesterday at Armandos on Walker Rd. On a very rainy and gloomy day our server, Margaret, made us laugh and treated my mother with so much kindness that I will tell everyone I know to go eat there! Their food is always excellent and we will eat there in the future but in this world of people so eager to post negative things I just wanted to let everyone know what a delight Margaret was. Thank you so much!

Capri Pizza on Dougall

I would like to give a huge shoutout to the Capri Pizza on Dougall Avenue. I am a grade school teacher, and I was looking to get some pizza boxes donated for a classroom fraction project. After calling several local pizzerias, I was at a loss.

However, after contacting the owner at that particular Capri Pizza, he was quite happy to donate pizza boxes for all of my students. He had his workers organize them all for me, and even bring them out to my car! My students absolutely loved this project and they learned a lot about fractions. We completed a thank you card for the owner and after presenting it to him, he was so happy with the kids' work, that he offered to bring us a free pizza at school!

I cannot tell you how much the project meant to the students, but the fact that the owner was so generous as to donate a pizza to them as well, made them ecstatic. Thank you for your generosity! #choosekind

There are Honest People out there

To the honest person who found my 3 yr old granddaughter's little "Hello Kitty Purse" that had $25 in it and had her precious little treasures at Tecumseh Mall and turned it into the security office, you not only turned a frown upside down, but you restored my faith with showing me that there are honest Windsor people! You've been Spotted! We greatly appreciate your honesty and good faith!
Signed,
Happy Grandma and Happy Granddaughter
