Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings all around the world
On Friday, May 18, my hubby and I were at the Tim Horton`s on Grand Marais near Dominion. If you have been there, it is a nightmare of a parking lot and drive thru. Two accesses to the drive thru plus cars must keep a route clear for the traffic from the Shoppers Drug Mart located in the same parking lot.
In short, we were cut off. A person took the opportunity to squeeze into line where we were trying to leave a path clear for traffic. When we pulled up next, his window was open and I asked if this was his first time at this particular Tim Horton`s as he just cut into line. He ignored me. I took a pic of the car fully intending to ``spot`` him when I got home.
When we pulled up to the window, the fellow had paid for our order and asked the server to please pass on his apologies. He realized what he did after the fact.
We honked and tried to wave out the window. We gave a thumbs up and a peace sign. If this gentleman sees the post, thank-you for our coffees and apology. I was having a lousy day and your thoughtful gesture turned it around. I hope you enjoy your holiday weekend.
To the lady walking behind me at the river this morning. I was walking/ jogging and I had just put my phone in my pocket after switching a song. I couldn’t hear you yelling at me but you started running to catch me and by the time you caught me I was about 200 yards from where I had originally dropped it. You were out of breath and commented how I just gave you the best workout you’ve had in years. We both laughed and you gave me the $25 dollars I dropped from my pocket while playing with my phone. You could have easily ran off and no one would have known. It’s refreshing that someone decided to run after me to return something I had dropped. Thank you for the honesty and I hope good Karma comes your way ASAP!
PS Ill be back Monday morning near the Canada Flag the same time if you want to join me for a walk/ jog
Just tonight Thursday May 17, 2018 I was leaving adventure bay around 5:30 pm and there was a darker skinned man waking through the parking lot asking for money. I was walking to my van with my 4 year old daughter when I told him I'm sorry I don't carry cash with me and he chased my daughter and I to our van! As I hurried and put her in an locked the doors he started yelling that I was lying and that he needed my money for food! I have never been so scared in my life!
Monday May 14 around 9:30 pm I was in a car accident at Pillette and Riverside Drive. A truck turning onto Pillette came into my turning lane and hit me and totaled my car. We all assume the person was drunk because without even seeing if I was ok he sped off, sadly no one was able to get the plate number.
But the description of the new/ newer 4/ 4 lifted Chev/ Dodge truck black or dark grey, it would have damage to the driver side front and bumper.
For some Reason I remember seeing something red or burgundy, so I'm thinking it may have a grill or hood this color.
Please if you know anything or if a truck needing this repair and possibly paying cash and not insurance pls contact me or the police.
Let get this person of the road and have this person face their responsibility.
This evening, my 8 yr old daughter and I were on the 1C (going into forest glade from the mall) and the bus driver that was driving was being trained on the route. She had a mini freak out because she was worried that we might get into an accident (because she was afraid the driver wouldn't know what to do)
The lady training him calmly reassured my daughter that they have training on busses and routes before they are even allowed to have passengers, and that nothing at all would happen.
Thank you for taking the time to calm my daughter's fears and not just brush it off.
As I was driving to pick up my husband from work there was a horrible head on collision three cars up from me. This happened just before 4pm Monday May 14. It was a very scary sight. A car heading North on walker (near the airport) came right into oncoming cars heading south. I pulled over in shock and noticed a lady in scrubs (I'm assuming a nurse?) quickly ran to one of the cars to tend to a man that looked to be unconscious. There were people rushing to them and I went around to make room for emergency vehicles that would be coming. I drove away in tears and shock praying for those involved, I just wanted to know what happened? I keep thinking about it and praying they're ok, any information to put my mind at ease would be greatly appreciated.
Mothers day Sunday, 9ish pm, THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH to everyone who helped with sightings of my lost dog (yorkie). He jumped out (unseen) when I dropped my sister off on Pelissier. He was AMAZINGLY found within an hour, DOWNTOWN, AT NIGHT, and without his collar! (had come off earlier).
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!
I went to stacks on mother's day at around 2pm to treat myself to a mother's day brunch. When I went to pay my bill the waitress informed me that the young boy across from me had paid my bill as a random act of kindness. I couldn't help but tear up at this amazing gesture. He had left before me so I wasn't able to thank him. It really made my day and I will gladly pay it forward. To his mother on mother's day your have raised an exceptional young man. 😊
