Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings all around the world
Today December 18th around 8:20am I was waiting on the road in a long drive thru line. There were other cars waiting their turn coming from the opposite direction. (If know this Tims well, you know what I’m talking about), this car (a silver dodge journey) was waiting and waiting and nobody but would let her in because you know everyone’s in a rush to go nowhere. So, when it became my turn to pull into the drive way next, I stopped and let this car in. She waved and said thank you. I pull up to the window and the lady had paid for my order which was a small iced cap. When she pulled away, we went opposite directions and I wanted to say thank you. So thank you to the lady in the silver dodge Journey at the Tim Horton’s on Ottawa today around 8:20am
On December 8th a fundraiser was held for my grandson Elijah Lewis, to help his family with their ongoing expenses. He is 5.5 months old and is a heart warrior! He was born with 4 Congenital Heart defects and on November 19th he underwent his 2nd heart surgery (open heart). The fundraiser was a success and will help Elijah, his twin brother, his 4 yr old brother and his parents immensly.
We would like to thank the amazing businesses and individuals who donated their time and/ or door prizes/ auction prizes.

To the 3 men that stopped and helped me after I was struck by a car tonight at the corner of Eugenie and Macdougall, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I was very scared by the man that hit me and you made me feel safe until the police arrived. I wish you all the best and wished I could thank you in person. Also, to the man in the truck that drove a stranger (my husband) to the scene of the accident so he could be with his wife, thank you so much for being such a great samaritan and bringing my husband to me.
I am a little late with this post but I want to say thank you to the person who, at approximately 12:30 pm, on Wednesday December 11th at the Starbucks drive through Dougall and Cabana, paid for my latte. I had just had cataract surgery and my son was driving me home. I stopped for a treat and was truly grateful for your generosity. Thank you.
I am looking for witnesses to an accident on Saturday, December 14th at the intersection of Adelaide and Cheapside. It was a black ford hit by a green toyota. I was hit on a left-hand turn by someone speeding through a yellow-turning-red when all other vehicles had been stopped and the intersection cleared for some time. I called 911 but the police didn't show up. I need witnesses to this person running the red and hitting me because without witnesses or police charges, it's always the person turning left who's at fault - even if the light is red and the traffic is still.
My great niece (almost 6 years old) wanted to do something special for Christmas. This sweet and beautiful little girl decided she was going to draw pictures and sell them to make money so she could buy toys and necessities to donate to WRH pediatric department.
What a remarkable gesture, my niece raised over $300 and donated over 23 toys as well as clothes and other items to Windsor Regional Hospital.
We are so proud of her, great job of raising such a loving little girl mom & dad.
I was charmed yesterday afternoon by a trio of young carollers (I am guessing from the local middle school) knocking on my door, greeting me with a Christmas song, and asking if I had any tinned food for the food bank. Kudos to these young people for both spreading holiday cheer and giving up their time to help others - especially on such a cold day! When I see young people spending their time and efforts trying to help others and make the world a better place, it gives me hope for the future. I wish you all a wonderful Christmas!
