Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings all around the world
After picking up my grandchildren from their father's place this morning, we pulled into the Tim Horton's drive through at Lauzon and Wyandotte. To my dismay (and horror) my debit card was declined twice and of course I had no cash on me. The girl at the window suggested I try using a machine inside. Before going in my husband found out that the Credit Unions' site was temporarily down. I explained this to the young lady inside just as my card was declined a third time. I apologized and told her I did not have any cash on me and would have to leave my order behind. She told me not to leave and immediately ran to the back for her own debit card and proceeded to pay for my order. Almost in tears, I thanked her and brought the order to my car. Still stunned, I sent a text to my husband about what had just happened and that I forgot to get her name. My husband went back to let the manager know about this awesome employee they had.
April, you have no idea how bad this weekend started for me on Friday being sent to the hospital for an emergency blood transfusion through the night. I had a great Mother's Day and your little act of kindness made it that much sweeter.
Thank you so much....April, You have been spotted

I just wanted to say thank you soooooo much to the person at no frills in Amherstburg. They witnessed a white chrylser 300 hit my car while I was shopping and was kind enough to take down her licence plate number and leave it for me!!! It is so greatly appreciated!!!
Not everday you see a cute driver like this one....
Just a thank you to the wonderful person at the Timmies on Lauzon 2 cars ahead of me that paid for my order on May 3rd 😊 Love having my faith in humanity restored with little things like that. I plan to pay it forward my next trip to timmies 😊
I wanted to spread some good vibes to encourage others to Be Kind and Be Approachable. I hope this will make people's day. :).
I have a little experience I'd like to share. I was at the post office and overheard (let's face it I'm nosy) a woman asking the post office clerks for an "iTunes" card. They didn't know what she was talking about and I was half busy packaging something up. The woman was in her 70's and then asked for the nearest payphone. She seemed distressed, and she left. The two clerks began talking about how strange it was and I asked for clarity. I then remembered reading an article about an "iTunes CRA scam" on line this morning. I decided to drive around and look for her. Sure enough she was a few blocks away on a payphone and I parked and went up to her as she was speaking and providing someone over the phone with her home address I said "EXCUSE ME" really loud. She turned her back on me and seemed 'on the edge'. I pulled up the article about the iTunes card scam on my cell phone and held it up to her face. She still didn't acknowledge me. I then said really loud "I THINK YOU ARE ON THE PHONE WITH A SCAMMER NOT CANADA REVENUE"... then she looked at me and hung up the phone because the person on the other end heard me and hung up on her. I then explained to her and she told me that CRA called and said if she didn't pay $3000 right away she would be arrested and there was warrant out for her 2013 taxes were done wrong. She was told not to tell anyone in her family about it and to get to a shoppers drug mart right away and purchase an iTunes card for $3000.00 and call them back from a payphone. She literally fell apart in front of me and I took her to the Tim Horton's bought her a coffee and called the police. Luckily she still had her money on her. The police were wonderful (thank you WPS) but these low life scum bags are getting away with thousands of dollars of scamming innocents. Please call your elders and let them know about this scam Canada Revenue will not call your home or tell you over the phone to pay in any way!! nor will anyone. Hang up and call 911.
This morning @ approx. 8:30 am my 84 yr. old mother-in-law was attended to and transported by an EMS by the name of Shawn for a medical emergency to the hospital. A few hours later he reappeared, for an update on her condition and to hold her hand for a moment. The warmth and compassion he showed goes above and beyond the heroic demands that are placed upon him each and everyday. He made not such a good day, a little brighter. May God bless him and keep him safe.
