Special thanks to police officer

Today I went through Tim horton's on Grand Marais and to my surprise my tea was paid for by a kind police officer. I do not know his name but the officer gave the cashier a large sum of money and advised her to pay for everybody's order until the money was gone. This was very nice and appreciated. Ironically I saw another officer in front of me and it sparked a conversation about the derogatory terms people use against them and how sad that is. We get to the drive thru and this happened. How ironic this only proved my point in the conversation. A big thankyou to the officer and others who serve and protect us daily!

Mystery Santa at Tim's

Want to thank my mystery Santa from this morning. In line at Tim Horton's on Howard Avenue to pick up my breakfast at about 8:20 am. When I get to the window the girl told me Merry Christmas she paid for you. Such a nice way to start my day. May your Christmas be filled with joy and laughter and 2017 bring you happiness and love.
Thank-you again.

Proud Auntie

I wanted to take a minute to share a nice story and to Spot my niece Brianna. She is in the sixth grade and she is such a sweet little girl.

A couple days ago at school, she overheard a couple of kids telling another boy who believed in Santa, that santa wasn't real. My niece walked right up to them and told them to please stop. She then went to the boy and told him that Santa infact IS real! And that if he wasn't real, then where do all of those presents come from?

She has known for awhile that Santa isn't real but for her to stand up for that boy and reassure him that Santa is real made me a super proud Auntie! I think she needs some recognition for this.

She helped that boy have at least one more Christmas where he could believe in Santa!

This little girl tries her best to make everyone happy all the time. On some of her recesses she goes and plays with the mentally challenged children and she is always standing up for people. She always goes out of her way to make people happy! So proud to be her Auntie ❤️

Please teach your children that if they don't believe in Santa.....don't tell other kids because some kids parents still want them to believe for awhile longer. Don't ruin Christmas for someone!

Merry Christmas Everyone 🎄

Disappointed donator

My coworkers and myself adopted a family from the CAS holiday program as we do every year. This year we had a surplus of donations and after hearing on the radio that there was still 270 families unadopted, I thought it was a good idea to call and get a 2nd family. This ended with great success! We were able to purchase everything on this families wish list!
Sadly last week it was spotted by someone that some of these items are being sold on a buy and sell group in Windsor. Gifts we purchased for the child are being sold! We didn't buy random items, we bought what the family asked for! There are brand new items for sale that were not purchased from us, I am assuming she had donations from more than the CAS holiday program. I wonder what the screening process is to qualify for this?
How do you help families in need without being duped?

Thank you kind lady

I was on the 1c eastbound around 1:20pm today. The bus was getting real packed and there was a lady with a walker standing there in the bus searching around for any available seat. The three people in the front seats saw the lady with the Walker and did nothing about it. Until a young lady with a blue-ish/ turquoise jacket with pink earphones gave up her seat to the lady with a walker (with no hesitation and a smile on her face). Thank you for being so kind and giving up your seat when no one else would. Merry Christmas!

A good deed noticed.

I was driving down Wyandotte and cursing myself as the bus slowed in front of me, initially I thought he was stopping to drop someone off but as I slowed I noticed what he had noticed. An older gentleman was out trying to salt the ice on the sidewalk and had fallen. I stopped, put on my 4-ways and rushed to help but the driver and a passenger had done so as well and were able to get him up and safely walk him back to his property - which I would have had a very hard time doing on my own, this man was at least 6'! The road was busy, and I'm certain this bus driver wasn't the first to notice this poor guy but he was the first to stop. Although I don't use Windsor transit, I know the drivers get more negative feedback then positive. Please thank a bus driver today. Give them a candy cane, a hug, a smile.. anything really. Especially the guy driving bus 638 route 2 December 22nd around 2:20 :)

Door to Door Angel

On Wednesday December 21st, 2016, I received a call from my father's house. My father (who is very ill) had called to tell me that he had fallen, and that someone wanted to speak to me. He passed the phone over to a woman, however I cannot remember her name. She stated that she had been going door to door (selling something I think), and that my father had asked her to come in when she knocked. Assessing the situation, she helped him up, saw that he was hurt, and he then asked her to call me. I told her someone would be there shortly, and my uncle was there within 10-15 minutes. This wonderful woman stayed with my dad the entire time, to make sure that someone came to help him. I just wanted to express my sincere thanks at how you handled the situation. it's nice to know there are caring individuals out there. Merry Christmas!
