Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings all around the world
This morning I went to goodwill's 50% off Sale, and just like most of us bargain hunters I got there early and stood in line outside waiting for the doors to open. It was about 5 mins to 9:00 and people really started to get out of their cars. Some people did the right thing and went to the end of the line while others just stood about 10 feet from the line in front of the store doors. Some people would say "the back of the line is back there". Some listened and went to the back of the line and the others just ignored the fact that there was even a line. When the doors opened the people that had just came out of there cars tried to cut in. But there was a lady that was standing in line that saw the people that had just came out of there car trying to cut in and she stood there and blocked the people from cutting the line and saying some of these people have been waiting for an hour you need to wait. I just wanted to say thank you for standing up for all those people and even might have missed out on the thing that she was standing in line for. Thank you very much. We all need to be like you and stand up for what is right and fair. Hopefully one day I can do that for someone else too.
Found a Chrysler key (possibly jeep) in the parking lot at John max on lauzon on Thursday night
I never really thought about massage therapists and thought for a long time that it was all about relaxation. Well, I was wrong.
After some gentle nudging by my better half, I went and saw a RMT to see if something could be done to help my leg. I had been having issues with it for weeks and was starting to resign myself to the fact that I am getting older and just falling apart but she wasn't having any of that.
On a recommendation I saw Marci at Lemmo Brain Centre (I told her I'd give her a shout out for helping me). Not only was she able to get my leg to release and feeling normal again, she was able to help the headaches that have plagued me for years. I never realized working a desk job could mess my shoulders and neck up enough to cause them!
Now that I know better and know how helpful they can be, I apologize for dismissing the massage therapists. A believer has been made of me.
Well last Sunday, January 22, 2017 I filled up at Costco, jumped into my car and it wouldn't start, break wouldn't move, it's a push button start and nothing was happening. Jessica who works at the Gas Station at Costco came over and asked if there was anything she could do, well I forgot my phone so she was very nice and allowed me to use Costco's so I could call CAA. I felt horrible for everyone waiting and she was very nice told me it was fine. Tqhings happened and proceeded on letting people know what the hold up was and everyone was fabulous a lot of people came over to offer assistance. But Jessica you were so very nice and came over to check on me and my friend. Girl you have been spotted!! Thank you for all of your help and my car is still in the shop and I hope to be reunited this weekend with it. It was a major module in the dashboard that died. The vehicle is less than 2 years old. Geez.
To the man named DAN!
On January 25th my friend and I were saved by a very nice gent from down the block named Dan. We were trying to get my mom’s car started and in typical fashion, everything was going wrong. The key was stuck in the ignition, it wouldn't turn over, and the car was clicking like crazy. Turning the four ways on made the clicking stop, pressing the brake made the clicking speed up. There was a light flashing on the dash that I’d never seen before let alone knew what it was protesting so vehemently. I had to google a key release just to get the key out and we couldn't even get it in neutral to move it. We tried jumping it and that seemed to make the clicking more angry and insistent that I was an idiot. My neighbor came out and tested the battery for us and said it was completely dead, which just confused me more because of all the blinking lights and clicking. My car knowledge is limited after dead battery, tire pressure and fluid top ups. So, my only possible diagnosis: demon possession.
While we're sitting there trying to decide if we should try to jump it (again) or call an exorcist. A guy pulls up in a jeep and asks if we're having trouble. More than u know my friend!
I quickly gave him the disclaimer because it seemed more complicated to me than just us needing a jump. "ok" he chuckled, and drives off. I’m assuming he's accepted it’s more of a pain than it's worth but to my surprise he parked and got out. Long story short, Dan from down the street was able to fix the issue and get the car started, which I never expected to even be a possibility. Honestly, I would have been happy with just getting it off the road and into my driveway until we could call someone. He'll never understand what he did for me yesterday. My mom is currently at Malden park, her car was at my house so I could keep an eye on it (mission failed apparently lol) and until it could be sold. My friend was having trouble with her car so we were lending her my mom’s in the interim. The fact that the car wouldn't start was just the cherry on my sundae as it was a double fail on my part lol. I’ve been able to stay pretty positive of late but I recently took leave from work, there has been issues with lawyers, personal stressors, etc. and now this damn car lol. I’m not sure how much is left before I hit the end of my rope but I could feel it getting closer yesterday, not going to lie. Then in walks this very nice person who wanted to help just for the sake of helping someone. It was exactly what I needed when I needed it. I must say we have been very blessed with support from our family and friends; but a complete stranger? Thank you didn't seem enough! I asked if him and his wife whom he talked lovingly about enjoyed wine, or anything of that sort, he wouldn't hear of it. Said he just liked helping people. if I had been more smart and less overwhelmed, I would have asked which garage I assume he works at (my assumption coming from his knowledge and coveralls so I could be totally wrong lol) and gave them a much-earned shout out. Either way, thank you Dan for not only getting the car started but for giving me back a few feet of rope I’d lost this past week.

While walking through the parking lot tonight at Fresh Co on Tecumseh and Rivard just after 8 pm I found a Scotiabank bank card on the ground. I do not remember what the last name on the card was but the first name was Michelle. If your name is Michelle and you were at Fresh Co tonight and lost your bank card, I handed it in to an employee who put it in the customer service office.
