Thank you for sticking up for my daughter and her friend

I was at work today and got a call from my daughter and she was in tears. I quickly asked what was wrong. She told me that when she parked her car at the river and went for a walk with her friend a couple young boys around 17-19 were yelling some rude names at her and her friend. They were making sexual comments saying what they would to them. At one point they stood infront of them and wouldn't let them walk forward and stopped them from turning back the way they came. My daughter and her friend were tough and yelled back at the boys telling them to F-off and to leave them alone. One guy walked around her and knocked the cup out of her hand. Finally 2 older gentlman came running down the hill from riverside street because they noticed my daughter and her friend yelling and trying to walk around these guys. She said one of the gentleman grabbed one of the kids that pushed the drink out of her hand and pushed him to the ground asking how he likes it. The 3 young boys walked away cursing at those men while the men checked on my daughter and her friend. I heard the story and as a mother all I wanted to do is punch those boys in the face that were picking on my daughter and her friend. But to the men who came to the rescue I am most grateful that you didn't just stand around watching or recording this encounter like my daughter said 1 other person was doing. You came down from the main street and stuck up for 2 young ladies and made sure they were ok. So to Jeff and his friend, thank you so very much for being my hero. My daughter was so thankful and I know she thanked you but I never got a chance to thank you. I do really hope you see this!!

Annoying man in Jackson Park

As a frequent visitor to Jackson Park (by virtue of it making a nice shortcut) I am sick and tired of having my walks interrupted by this man on a bike and his dog. I know it's a public place and people can come and go as they please, but I see this man every single day (at all hours of the day) from when I go for my morning coffee run to when I come home from work at night--and I should note that this is 14 hours apart.

This would not be so bad if not for the fact that he accosts me every single day and makes me say hi to his dog. He follows me all the way through the park as if we are friends, but I assure you that we are most certainly not. I am, admittedly, not a particularly social person, and so I find this forced contact more annoying than most. But I do feel that walking with your head down and earphones in is a particularly obvious social cue, although with this man it apparently goes unnoticed.

What is this man's story and does he bother anyone else as much as he bothers me?

Awesome Honest customer service

I would like to recognize Wireless Warehouse on Howard Ave. After a few recommendations from other businesses that could not fix my dead tablet, I decided to give them a try. It was dead after all and I really had nothing to lose. I left it with them at no cost, they would diagnose the problem and call me in a few days. I love my tablet and would have paid anything to have it fixed. As it turned out, the problem was my bad. (Don't leave tablets plugged in all the time). They could have easily charged me for a new battery; and I would have paid for it. They did not, they told me why my battery would not charge, fixed the problem and billed me a minimal fee for doing so. I am spotting this business as a very up front and honest place. Would highly recommend them if you need service to a cell phone or tablet.

One-way streets are soooo hard!

I was driving south down Dougall when ALL OF A SUDDEN this IDIOT turns the corner in front of me and starts barreling toward me, DRIVING THE WRONG WAY DOWN THE ROAD. I threw my hands up and prepared for death, screaming for Jesus to take the wheel. He didn't but he told me to press the brake so I did.

This IDIOT then refuses to back up and forces me to reverse all the way back to the next corner and turn off, EVEN THOUGH HE WAS IN THE WRONG. And he continues down who knows how far, driving the wrong way. MAKES ME SOOOOOO MAD.

Met Hospital Angels

On Wednesday, I gave birth to a beautiful little girl, sadly not without a few complications. But luckily, I had many wonderful nurses to help, the two that really stood out to me were the ones who helped me through the labour and actual delivery.
Lisa, my labour "day" nurse. Thank you for being so giggly with me in my drug induced state, I'm so sad we had to end our meeting on such a low note. I was hoping you'd be back the following day to be able to see our little girl, who made her way very dramatically in this world. Thank you for keeping her heart rate up and helping us through that scary moment.
Vanessa, my labour "night" nurse as well as delivery nurse. Thank you for being my advocate and giving me a really good chuckle (prairie dogging ;) sorry had to LOL) you listened to what we wanted, and even though we almost were unable to do it, you stood by our wishes and stuck to your guns and helped our baby come into this world quickly and healthy.
We just had our check up and we were told she is doing excellent! We have you to thank for it. Thank you to all the other nurses who helped as well! Never enough credit given!

Did you spot?

My grand daughter lost her cell phone last evening. (April29) She thinks she lost it in the cab she was riding in. It is an Acer Liquid Z630. The battery has probably gone dead by now. The service has been shut off. If you are a cab driver who worked last night or you found this phone last evening can you please contact me at 226 674 2640. Like all of our youth she needs it more for the pictures and info it holds.
