Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings all around the world
To the girl working at the Devonshire mall Booster Juice, 6pm on Thursday June 22. I'm the mom who surprisingly had cash but unfortunately had to come back for a second large marathon, no banana, in a matter of 20 minutes. You gave me a good laugh, a delicious pick me up, twice, and made my day. You rock dude, just wanted to say thanks again :)
To the young, petite, lovely mom with glasses and a short hairstyle accompanied by two very active young boys in the check out line in the Leamington Walmart on Wednesday June 21 at approximately 7:15 pm - bless you. The lady in front of you could not pay for her purchases. You didn't falter and paid for them yourself and I believe it was more than $40. And to the wonderful young man at the cash register, I know that you helped in your own way (as much as you were able I am sure) and gave a discounted price somehow. Goodness and generosity DOES exist. My only wish is that they prevail!

After experiencing health issues in grade 9 and 10 which left him requiring assistance for many daily activities, Nick Harris realized more than ever the difficulties faced by people with disabilities who do not always have as much independence.
Nick had an idea that would create a more inclusive environment at his school, and ensure that accommodations were made so that everyone could participate in the school activities. Nick applied for 3 grants to cover the cost of raised garden beds that would be accessible for people who use wheelchairs and walkers.
Next year the Life Skills at F. J. Brennan Catholic High School Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board class will be responsible for leading the garden programs and Nick is helping the Life Skills teacher - Mr. Frias (who has already been a big help on this project!!) to develop the curriculum.
Thank you to the students at St. Joseph's Catholic High School in the woodshop for preparing the boards and putting together the garden beds.
Thank you to Community Living Ontario for covering the cost of the construction of the garden beds.
Thank you to The Windsor Essex County Environment Committee for covering the cost of the soil to go in the gardens.
Thank you to World Wildlife Fund for covering the cost of the plants to be planted soon.
To the person or people who dumped a couch by one of the bridges at Hillman Marsh you make me sick. Shame on you. There is no excuse for it. You can put your large garbage out to the curb on garbage day and it will be picked up free of charge. No need to call. No need to pay and especially no need to dump your trash by a place that should not only be a beautiful place to visit but also a safe place for the animals that call it home.
You should be ashamed of yourself!!!!
