Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings all around the world
OMG!!!! This past hour was a complete roller coaster of emotions for me. Around noon on Sunday Oct. 1st, I forgot my purse in the shopping cart at Freshco at Tec & Huron and when I went back, it was gone! I went into the store and asked if anyone returned it. They said no and helped me look around the parking lot with no luck so I left my name and number with a description of my purse. When I pulled up at my house, another car pulled up just in front of my house and stopped. The man who got out had my purse! NOTHING was missing! I had nothing to offer him but my thanks! Angels are out there and I saw one today! Thank you so much mystery man.
On Thursday Sept 28 at around 1pm I was waiting in line at Giant Tiger on Tecumseh Rd E. There was an elderly woman checking out in front of me, and she was moving very slowly. I observed the young male cashier, whose name I didn't get, as he dealt with the woman. He was cheerful with her despite the growing line. He was patient while she counted out change to pay with. She was worried about the strength of the bag, so he triple bagged her items. He smiled at her and chatted while she gathered her things and slowly moved on. It was a real pleasure to see a young person interact directly and compassionately with an elderly person. I complimented the cashier on his kind and gentle handing of the customer, and I left the store smiling at how nice the world can be. Thank you, young man. I wish I had thought to get your name 💜.
Not all heros wear capes, this one in particular wears a safety vest and one hell of a smile.
A bus was broken down on Lauzon Rd and Lilac, right in the middle of turning left. You could see the look of despair on the bus driver's face as traffic began to pile up around her. It was around 3:15 and the bustle of parents picking up their "angels" at Forest Glade Public have begun. The sun reflected off her vest and blinded my eyes which drew my attention to her--the hero. Without any training, she began to direct traffic additional to making sure our babies crossed the road safely. She saved the sanity for nearly a hundred people tonight by being selfless and staying later then usual to assist. You, my vested beautiful new best friend-- have been spotted.

To the woman who helped me...
Today I was in the Value Village checkout on Walker road and my 1 and 2 year old sons started having a meltdown, mainly my 1 year old who was very tired. The line was a little long and they tend to get antsy when we're not moving. I was definitely blushing, embarrassed and could feel the heat of people staring. I was about to get out of line and take them out but it was almost our turn so was hesitant to leave.
I was trying to calm them by showing them their toys and talk to them when you, the kind blonde woman behind me in line approached me and told me not to worry about it. You must have noticed the troubled, stressed out look on my face while trying, but failing to soothe them. Then you got down to my youngest sons level, (the one who was still crying) and talked to him in a sweet voice in attempts to stop his crying. We talked about how you have a toddler too and knew how I felt. I instantly felt better and less embarrassed.
I proceeded to pick up my youngest and push my oldest son in the stroller which calmed him down. It was then my turn to cash out and in my frazzled state of mind, I almost forgot to give the cashier the shirt I had hanging on the front of the stroller. You handed it to me, and then offered to help me out to my car. You pushed the stroller with my oldest son in it while I carried out my one year old and also carried a bag.
If I wasn't so stressed out and caught off guard (in a good way, because there aren't that many people that would do that) I would have cried. I am tearing up as I write this. Also, I am completely lacking in social skills since I've been at home with two toddlers for the past few years so excuse my awkward attempt at paying you back for your kindness by giving you coffee money. 🙈
I have a little more faith today in humanity because of you. The world could definitely use more kindness. Thank you so much. ❤️
To the woman who came through the downtown McDonald's drive thru Monday night (sept 25) around 9 pm. I know I already said thank you, but I truly appreciate your kindness and genuine caring. I was very sick and not feeling well, and you really turned my night around. It just takes something small to brighten up somebody's mood. Thank you again, you've been spotted.
If you have a sick or injured pet and you cannot afford the ridiculously high Veterinarian bill to help them, you can surrender the pet over to the Human Society to be cared for. In return, they will help the animal and then put it up for adoption, but you - the original owner - can not adopt the pet back.
Essentially, the Human Society will do the work pro bono and then put the animal up for adoption to a new family for the low cost of anywhere between $150 to $250.
I don't understand why they don't instead help low income families to keep their beloved pets. Why not, for example, give the family the discounted price of $150 to $250? Why force them to deal with such an ultimatum?
Don't get me wrong, our Human Society does a lot of good, and I realize they can't do everything for free. However, there needs to be better options available for low income families than to simply surrender over their pets.
I feel it's unfair that well-loved animals can't stay with the people that have loved and cared for them for years simply because these people are too poor.
And what about the poor animal? It goes through a traumatic experience, and then is taken away from the family he/ she knows and loves and is given to a group of strangers instead.
It breaks my heart to know families are torn apart all because of the rising cost of bill given by a Veterinarian.
