Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings all around the world
To the low life that came up on my porch last night at the corner of Niagara and Louis and STOLE my buda statue... HOW DARE YOU!!!! you are a looser. That statue has a lot of sentimental value, even if it wasnt expensive and YOU broke my heart. I hope you fall and scrape your knee... you just ruined my thanksgiving.
Working at a department store you always run into customers who are disrespectful it's just part of the job! Sometimes aggravating but comes with the territory. Yesterday a woman left our store after shopping only to return 5 minutes later. She told me she had hit another persons car in the parking lot and would like to find them to report it. Astonished she came back in, most people would just book it. After we found the customer she hit they went outside to check out the damages. The lady informed us both that the damages in fact had come from another incident at another store and she needed not to worry, she just hasn't had time to get it fixed. They both wished each other a happy thanksgiving and went about there day! It was so awesome to see someone's honesty on both ends!!! Kudos to both of you
Having a child with Special Needs can be tough in this world full of hate. You always go out with your child(ren) always ready to protect them and you wonder what is going to happen. You are prepared for anything. Well I took my kids out to Bubis and my oldest had a bit of a melt down. As our wonderful waitress noticed me trying to calm him she swooped in to the rescue! Omg! The way she handled the situation was amazing! She asked if it was ok and I told her yes and she continued. Just a young girl too. For a moment I knew I had to get him calm but how? Noise, out of comfort zone, No calming electronic or toy....nothing. People looking and I was ready to snap at all the eyes just looking. But this young girl was like a pro and swooped in, helped me calm my son down as she was helping me calm myself. As we went to pay the bill I asked her if she has ever dealt with anyone with special needs before. She softly and calmly told me no. I didn't give much info on my son but as this mommy got all emotional I told her she now can say she has and she did an amazing job and I thanked her so much! She reached out and gave me a hug. She introduced herself and we chatted for a bit. I was not going to share this story but decided to instead. Andie at Bubis is truly an amazing young woman whom the world needs more of! I hope the older people with the glares realized what they did and what she did! A thank you to her could never be enough.

Today at cross country we had a little scare with one of our student athletes, passing out and possibly having a seizure. Just want to take this opportunity to give a giant shout out to one grade 8 student from another school (don't know who this was) who called her mom (an ICU nurse) who was watching the race from her car, she didn't hesitate to come to our aid and take charge and stay with and make sure our student was ok and safe until the EMS arrived. Unfortunately we didn't get the chance to thank this person and her daughter amongst the chaos. If anyone reading this post may know who this person may be please pass along a giant thank you from the xcountry coaches from SJV and this student's family. Your help made the situation less stressful, much appreciated!!!
Ladies as you all know October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.
As a survivor I have a couple of things I'd like to say.
1) get your mammograms. Nevermind this every two years nonsense. Get them done EVERY year. A routine mammogram caught my cancer. Had I had my mammogram in 2015 when I was originally supposed to I wouldn't have had the one 2016 that caught my cancer. My cancer was so aggressive my tumor grew 1.5 cm in 10 days. Any delay would have made things much worse. As it was I was stage 3a.
Secondly..... I see a lot of you ladies tucking your cell phone into your bra.
PLEASE DO ME FAVOUR AND DO NOT DO THIS.
Idk if this has an actual confirmed link to breast cancer or not by why take the chance. Trust me you don't want to have to go through what I did last year.
Tuck your phone in your pocket, or waist band. Your purse. Any where but your bra.
I've stood by and said nothing to this point each time I've seen it. But not any more. Intrusive or not I will start asking the women I see to keep their phones else where. Call me what you'd like I don't care. But hopefully when you see that I don't have breasts anymore you'll understand and comply with my request.
To the kind man/ woman/ couple/ group of people who took the time out their own stressful day to fill my flat tire with air at Families First on Lauzon. THANK YOU! I was having a horrible day and getting the flat tire pushed me over the edge. All I could do was try and hide my tears. When I came outside again to look at it I saw it was filled with air and your note saying "We filled your tire with air. It has a screw in it fix it asap" I was so greatful. If you see this I want to say thank you so much for making my day a little better. I'm sorry I didn't get the chance to say it in person! I promise to pay it forward.
