Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings all around the world
I was in an accident just over three weeks ago, not as bad as it could have been. Even though not one person stopped after I went 20 feet off the road into a ditch the police officer who came, might I add within 5 minutes was very respectful and professional. Not only was my only experience dealing with the police good, the tow truck drivers from Myers towing did there best to ensure no further damage to my vehicle, there was some scratches from the chains but kind of unavoidable considering the steep incline they had to get it from. Also the auto body shop who took care of everything, didn't hesitate to take me to my vehicle every other day to show me the progress. From a terrifying experience to meeting some very professional people. So to Officer Roberts, the two men from Myers towing - sorry didn't get your names, and to Joe and the others at Donato Collision you have all been spotted. And thank you for making a bad experience a whole lot easier.
I hope you will find the same humour in this I do. I have driven by this sign for the past few days.
Seem this chicken special is not for everyone. ;)
A huge thank you to the 3 neighbours that helped me today in the 1000 block of Hall. My car had been stuck in ice ruts for 2 days after water froze around the tires. I can't even park in my driveway because the ruts are so deep. I tried everything under the sun to get the car out and even had to get a ride to and from work yesterday. Today would have been the same if they had not helped. One neighbour in particular was shovelling as much as he could to get the ice away and was determined to get the car out. Two other neighbours were pulling in and came over to help. I am so grateful that the car was able to get out. I have called the city to request the road to be salted this morning. I am upset that they have not came around to clear/ break up some of the ice from any of the roads. Hoping they are simply waiting until the first of the month when most cars move to the other side of the road and will help out the situation. I should not have to pay out of my pocket for city road maintenance!
I ordered from this place in forest glade called donator house. The women took my order and I asked for delivery. She must not have understood my address properly because after an hour I called back and she screamed at me saying I have her the wrong address after I had repeated it about 4 times. Anyway so another 10min goes by and her husband shows up with my food and tries to not give me back $10 in change I had to ask for it and then he proceeded to yell at me. Then I opened my food and as expected it was a soggy mess. I called back just to ask for a replacement wrap and the woman lost control she called me all these bad names and said I wasn't getting my money back and then hung up on me. I called back to explain I wasn't asking for my money back when she proceeded to scream at me again. Then about 20min goes by and she shows up at my house barges right into my home and starts grabbing all the good and drinks and telling me I'm not getting my money back. I have never been so shocked and horrified in my life. Everyone do yourselves a favor and do not support a business run like this. I can't believe they acted in such an unprofessional manner it was disgusting to say the least.
I was at Superstore in London, Ontario on January 23, 2014. At approximately 9:40 pm, I was waiting in line at the grocery store chatting up with a couple of cuties behind me. We were having a good conversation and since I was gonna go and grab a pop since I was in line and, I decided to just grab a small bottle since that is what the girl said I should do so I wouldn't have to hold up the line. After the lady in front of me was done, she gave me this note saying this message that she wrote by pen where I should have used this pick up line to get these girls phone numbers. I didnt get their phone numbers which I regret since I did not want to hold up the line for these cuties along with the fact that I was being a cheapskate and wanted to price match my items. Lol. I just wanted to tell the people of Windsor never to hesitate asking for a phone number if you like someone. Also, its great to have encouraging people out there and this note boosted my confidence.
I want to send out a big shout out to my son Tyler DeMarce,18 yrs.old.On Friday,Feb.21st,around 6:00-6:40,he had come out of the T.D. bank at Wyandotte St.W. at Rankin, he found a wallet laying on the ground and picked it up. As he was looking for the I.D. which was in there, along with $1200.00 in cash, he went right back into the bank and gave it to one of the tellers, without hesistation.I am so proud of his honesty, and the wonderful young man that he has become. He'll be attending the University in Sept. For Criminology, to start out his career as a Police Officer-he's gonna make an awesome Policeman. But,he makes me very PROUD,and I'm sure the person that lost their wallet will be very happy!!!A Mom blessed to have a son that is a true Humanitarian
I was sitting at the river with chad my 3 year old dog. I have had a long month and I was just thinking about things in general and praying for some good luck or to just have things settle down and not be so rough. I put my head down and in deep thought and prayer while holding onto my dogs leash. All of a sudden I feel Chad tug on the leash. I look up and I see a woman standing there petting my dog. She looked at me smiled and asked "are you ok dear?" I looked up and said yes, I am just thinking. She continued to talk to me about chad and ask me random questions. About 30 minutes have passed and we were still talking. Suddenly I hear a beep from my phone the sound it makes when I get a text. I looked down at the phone and a started reading. It was mother telling me that my brother will be flying home and they found him innocent for something he thought he did but he didn't. With a tear in my eye I looked up to say something to Sharon but she was gone...just gone and not in sight. Now I do understand that it was a long text and took me around 20 seconds to read. But she had vanished and it scared me and I didn't know what had just happened. I came home and told my mom what had happened. She looked at me and she said it was probably a guardian angel, and my prayers were being answered to help me while I waited to hear the news about my brother. I cried and the first thing she said is you should share this story on Spotted in Windsor and see if this Lady replies. So Sharon if you are out there and this gets to you please reply. If you know a older lady around 45-55 with Brown hair please tag her. I really want to know if you were real and if you were I want to thank you.
Signed
A girl who heard some great news and it turned my month around
Sometime between August to September 2011, I wanted to take a rollerskating picture on my old broken Samsung Reclaim phone but the phone was giving me some difficulty in taking this picture. So I just wanted to thank Shirley Wang for taking this picture for me when I was down by the riverfront and I really appreciate the friendship that we have today even though we both live in different cities. She also went above and beyond by emailing this picture to me since I did not have a good quality camera so I could post this on my Facebook which was the best random act of kindness I have ever had in my life. I really appreciate the kindness of Windsorites and I wanted to just tell everyone that Windsor is definitely "The Place To Be" for people that believe in Random Act of Kindness. Its people like her that made my stay so enjoyable when I was a Tourism and Travel student at St. Clair College. She not only made my day but she also became my first friend when I moved from Sarnia to Windsor. My friend enjoyed her stay in Windsor as well.
