Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings all around the world
To the man who saved my 15 year old daughter at the tim hortons on howard near the mall and got her home safe.
My daughter was being harrassed and treated horribly by 2 men outside of tim hortons on howard because she would not talk or give them her number. She was simply waiting for her brother to get off work and pick her up at the tim hortons. The 2 men brought my daughter to tears and would not leave her alone, even went as far as grabbing her by the arm. When a gentlemen coming out of tim hortons spotted my daughter crying and took matters into his own hands. He confronted the 2 men and scared them off, then kindly stayed with my daughter and calmed her down until a cab arrived, he paid for her cab and she got home safely.
The man introtuced himself to my daughter as Corey, she said he had on a grey hat, blue dress shirt, nice watch, grey jeans and boots.
Me and my husband can NOT thank you enough, you are an amazing human being, and would LOVE to invite you for dinner to say thank you if we are able to locate you !
To the person(s) who stole items from my black Jeep Patriot at Walkerville Eatery tonight. I am asking you to please return my external drive, it has pictures of my children from the day they were born until now and it is the only item of value to ME. You can keep everything else you took, although I'm not sure how much use you will have for my shoes, lunch bag, make up and water bottle. If you would return it me I will provide you with a substantial reward, no questions asked. If anyone finds has information on my belongings I will provide you with a reward. Please contact me 519-257-9064.
I am writing this Spotted in Windsor post today about the negativity on the online forums and discussions I am continually reading in current events in our city, specifically in regards to the Caboto Club. I believe that each individual has a voice and should state their opinion but the rude, unnecessary banter that carries on between the discussion boards is unfortunate and does not prove the progression we as a society claim we have attained. I also read the banter and cringe at the opinions that are stated without any facts.
I worked at the Caboto Club for many years, it was a part time job that helped me pay my way through school. I should probably state, that I am a female, and never once was I ever made to feel unwelcome in the club. There are some people that are misguided with information about the club - it is a men's only PRIVATE Italian club, that has grown largely overtime. Women are NOT members BUT they have their own separate club within the same building - The Women's Auxiliary. Within their club they socialize, make decisions, and vote. A lot of the banter has been raised around the woman not having a vote in the Caboto club, in the men's sector this is in fact TRUE, but that is once again a men's private club. The building was formed by the men's club, and over the years at has grown and still remains with them but they have not oppressed woman by not allowing them to enter or form their own clubs or committees, etc. Both the men's and women's sectors do amazing things for our communities. There are multiple charities that they contribute to as it is a non-profit organization. When families within the club are in need, they reach out.
I can tell you that the years I worked there, my voice as an employee was always heard and ideas were seen in changes for our day to day operations. If I had an issue it was addressed and changes were made.
I included these facts so that those that still continue to banter can have fact to their opinion. But I do ask this, do it with kindness. No need for name calling, no need to put down others or belittle anyone we are a community lets begin to act like one.
A snow dragon lying at rest in the front yard of 1609 Alexis road!
The magnificent beast is at rest and seems to be friendly, welcoming people to take pictures before the warmth drives her away.
With all the snow we have experienced, it's nice to see that some people (and a dragon) are making the best of it.
I was at work today driving down Langlois. I drove past an elderly female shovelling her sidewalk. I reversed to help her finish shovelling.
3 teenage boys were just 2 houses over and saw her shovelling too. They ended up coming over to help.
Just want to say thank you to those boys for taking their time to help!
I wish I grabbed their names but I had to get back to work.
After a very long weekend filled with a ton of tears, I'm now able to make this post.....
On Thursday I went to St Clair College to help my sister out with her dental hygiene program and I LOST MY RING 😪😪 It was lost in the Health and Sciences/ Dental Hygiene area of the school. I'm well aware that the likelihood of it being found or returned to me is very slim but I'm willing to try anything at this point! If everyone could please share and keep an eye out I'd be very grateful!
Still in shock that it's gone.... I've literally NEVER LOST ANYTHING before not even a earing so the fact that my engagement ring is gone is beyond heartbreaking! Praying for a miracle!
Thanks in advance for sharing 💔
I live in the 1800 block of Norman Rd. I had just become a home owner in September. Today I woke up to a perfectly shoveled road and a large wall of ice at the end of my driveway. It was as if was created to keep the white walkers out lol
Anyways, I went out to clear it as I have to go out later and work tomorrow. 4 of my neighbours came out to help me, 2 I have never met before. We cleared my driveway and 2 others in 30 minutes, it was awesome.
My uncle told me while looking for a house to scope out the neighbourhood because I wasn't just buying a house, I was investing in a neighbourhood.
I am happy to say that I chose correctly. Love you guys!
