This spotting of a good deed in Windsor comes a couple of weeks late but couldn't be left unacknowledged! I work as a paramedic in the city and in the course of a long night shift managed to lose my wallet along the way. I didn't realize I had lost my wallet until leaving work in the morning. Needless to say I was worried sick when I discovered my wallet missing and immediately set to retracing my steps throughout the previous shift which is no small feat for a medic as we tend to roam over a great area. I didn't have much hope of finding my wallet but I had to try something after a search of my base, ambulance and personal vehicle turned up nothing. Just when I was about to give up hope I received a call from our dispatchers who had been in touch with a kind citizen that had my wallet! A young man had been delivering papers and stumbled upon my wallet in one of the neighbourhoods we had attended to a patient in. I went straight to this young man's home and met with his mother who had gone out of her way to reunite me with my wallet early in the morning knowing how concerned I must be. My wallet was completely intact including some cash. I tried to offer the woman a modest reward of the cash in my wallet for her son who she had obviously done a great job raising but she refused repeatedly. This kind woman and her honest son had saved me untold expenses and headaches by getting my wallet back to me and didn't expect anything but the satisfaction of helping a stranger. In a profession that leads me to see things that sometimes challenge my faith in humanity it was great to get a reminder that kindness and generosity are still alive and well in Windsor.
