Spotted: I am almost 9 months pregnant and I went to my doctor for a routine prenatal checkup. I have really low iron and my doctor prescribed me a high dosage of iron pills for 3 months. When I went to pick them up from the pharmacy, it came to almost $80. Since I lost my job and my husband just started a new job, we have had out share of financial stress. My doctor asked me if I've been taking my iron and I joked it off and said I only bought one month supply. He looked at me seriously and said you have to take them and prescribed me another 3 months supply. I told him to be honest it's because of my finances I can't afford it that's why I bought one month supply. He left the office and and came back with a months supply of the iron supplement.
