While enjoying the day at Belle River Beach on Friday, July 6, 2018, I witnessed a man approach our area with his flip phone tucked into his waist, visible over his shirt. I could see the phone was flipped open and the camera pointing towards the outside. He stood there for a moment then made his way through the picnic tables where a large group of children from a day camp took over every table there. He noticed me walking towards him then started to leave. I confronted him and asked if he was video taping my child and EVERYONE else there. He nonchalantly shook his head and looked down at the ground. I alerted the staff there who were able to confirm the mans name as Doug who resides at the Green Acres motel down the road. The man left on his bicycle. I contacted OPP who came almost immediately to patrol the area. Please note that the staff made a comment that this Doug is there a lot. So please if you see this predator report him. I wish I would have grabbed his phone and smashed it to the ground. His description: approx 50 yrs old, skinny build, approx 5'6, wearing light green baggy shirt, shorts, Grey hat, scruffy facial hair, brown/ Grey hair, bicycle with a mount or something on the back. I didn't have my phone with me to take a picture. One other witness said he saw the man over at the park near the marina earlier. Watch out so this creep doesn't come around your children!
