Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings all around the world
Recently I've had a family member in hospital and rehab. It's become very clear to me that the nurses are not just nurses. They encourage the patient with caring and kind words, they calm the family and help us find what info we need. They put in so much extra love and care into their work. And they feel more like they are an advocate for the patient and family even though they work in a system that gives them bare minimum as far as resources.
I can't believe that in 2018 Windsor hospitals are still using paper charts. We went from emerge to surgery to a room to rehab and we had to repeatedly ask the same questions and catch them all up on what's going on. A paper chart with 100 pages in it is NOT ACCEPTABLE. WHY DO WE NOT HAVE DIGITAL COMMUNICATION IN HOSPITALS TO SET OUR NURSES UP FOR SUCCESS?
I sincerely hope this is part of the plans. How do we expect doctors and nurses not to make any mistakes if they have to flip through a paper chart for each patient. I'm disgusted. Give these Angels some help!
