Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings all around the world
I recently watched a show about teen suicide & it made me reflect on my own troubled teen years. I was a good kid that made many poor choices & got into many bad situations. Anyway, when I was 14 or 15 I found myself living at The Inn Of Windsor. (a girls home). I was at my absolute lowest. Very depressed & down on myself. The worker that was assigned to me was named Jackie. I'm not sure what your "official" title was. Counselor, social worker? I don't know, but I want you to know how much you helped me. You had me fill in a communication journal (which I complained about, but secretly loved) we would write back & forth to each other in it. I kept those journals well into my 20's & would read your words of encouragement often. They were lost in a move or I would still read them. There was another worker named Janet. You weren't even assigned to me, but I think you took an interest in me. After 1 really horrible day you came to my room & gave me a card. It said I was important & special & loved. You promised me if I held on things would get better. You were right. I'm married. I have beautiful children & I'm happy. I want you both to know you made a difference & had a huge impact on at least this girls life. You maybe even saved a life. If anyone knows Jackie & Janet that worked at The Inn in 1987-1988 please share this with them.
