To The Customers Who Make My Days Brighter

Just wanted to send my appreciation to several people in the Windsor community who I have served as customers.
I am a cashier at a local grocery store and am fairly new to the Windsor area. I have had many customers that have carried on friendly conversations with me, given me compliments on my smile or for helping them, or just been very pleasant and kind people. Working in customer service, you tend to deal with a lot of complaints and sometimes displaced anger, so it is always a blessing when you have customers that go out of their way to acknowledge you or even just flash you a sincere smile.
This means even more to me personally, because ever since I moved here, I have suffered from major depression and find it extremely hard to get through my days. There are so many days that I have come home from work feeling lighter because of something nice a customer said to me or people acknowledging me by name and coming up to talk to me each time they visit the store. It is sometimes the only interaction that keeps me going throughout the day and helps me have hope that eventually my future will be brighter after years spent feeling so isolated and homesick. It helps me believe in humanity and the power of kindness in a world that is too often filled with hatred and negativity.
I just want to thank all those customers from the bottom of my heart for showing such simple acts of kindness. And to let people know that how you treat your cashiers, your waitresses, or anyone that serves you has a huge impact. We all have stories that others know nothing about, so it is important to always show respect and kindness to everyone you come into contact with.
Thank you to all of those customers that have also served me in ways they may not realize, and thank you to everyone in this community that treats strangers with sincerity, appreciation, and respect.
